Between birthdays (a Brian and a Brookman), forgotten
basses, Brits, Biscuits and Gravy, breakdowns (mechanical not mental)
and a whole assortment of bullshit, we've accumulated a lifetime of stories
to tell since last we Chain Mailed you. We're saving most of them for our
forthcoming expose on the joys and struggles of the American touring band,
but we'll tempt you with a few highlights.
Most notably, since last we wrote, we opened for Oasis in Kansas City,
on Feb 23rd. Before the show we met the media hungry brits and even booted around the futbol on the arena floor before Liam put it in the seating. We played to a full and Suede Chain friendly house. After the show we joined the rock-n-roll dressing room party, talking to Liam and the boys about soccer, magazines and fine liquor. We walked off with a nice bottle of whiskey for the hotel room. (Sorry to anyone in Muncie, Indiana who came out to Headliners to see us on the
23rd, we took the Oasis show on short notice.) It definitely whetted our
appetite for serious recognition. Come see us now, while we're still approachable,
because we're aiming for stadiums before the year ends.
We also want to take the opportunity to thank all of you who came out to
see our January Metro show in Chicago. It was probably the best celebration
of the new year we could have ever asked for, and if it's any indication
of the course 1996 will take, we aren't complaining.
The future holds the potential for many more stories to add to the existing
chapters of our memoirs. With a majority of the dates on our April tour
booked and plans being made for our first West Coast tour, you can expect
colorful reports.
We hope that you're enjoying our new CD, Piloted by Ghosts. Thank you for
spreading the word about The Suede Chain from Champaign. You mean more
to us than you know.
