What is Wall of
Sound?
Bios: Need to find facts on the Foo Fighters? Curious about Courtney
Love's birthday? Modeled on Mr. Showbiz's popular Star Bios, Wall of
Sound's Artist Bios will showcase close to one hundred of the hottest
artists and bands with detailed biography pages that will serve as
self-contained home pages. Rather than visiting several sites to find music
news, album reviews, chats, and tour dates, fans will find all they seek in
one, easy-to-navigate location.
Reviews: Each Tuesday, the same day all new releases hit store
shelves, Wall of Sound's opinionated reviewers will assess the significant
albums of the week, complete with sound clips. On Thursdays, Wall of
Sound's critics will lead users to new music that's a little off the beaten
path.
News: Wall of Sound will not only offer original news items, but
will comb newsgroups, broadcast media, foreign press, and other sources for
the most comprehensive roundup of news anywhere, with an emphasis on
artists and their music.
Features: Wall of Sound will include interviews with artists,
producers, and behind-the-scenes players in the music industry, career
retrospectives, and reports from opening nights of the year's biggest
tours.
Charts: Teamed with SoundScan, Wall of Sound will bring the most
complete official album sales charts available anywhere, plus charts for
nine U.S. markets and the six major record distributors.
Release dates: Wall of Sound will offer the latest information about
upcoming albums weeks before they hit stores. Previews will give users a
first peek at the track list, guest players, and other hotly anticipated
new releases.
